Forticrete, the UK's leading manufacturer of concrete construction products, has been recognised for its contribution to health and safety performance and improvement at its Cebastone cast stone factory in Ibstock, Leicestershire, receiving the award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Health and Safety' at the 2015 British Precast Best Practice Awards.
The award recognises Forticrete's commitment to keeping Lost Time Accidents (LTAs) on a downward trend, which has now passed a remarkable 3,476 days without a single LTA at its Cebastone factory.
Since the launch of its 'Raising the Bar' safety campaign in 2006, year on year, Forticrete has made significant strides to reduce the number of accidents on site and eliminate LTAs, improving the health, safety and welfare of its employees.
John Lambert, general manager at Forticrete commented: "Health and safety in the workplace has long been at the top of our agenda and our dedication to establishing and enforcing appropriate measures to control and monitor the health, safety and welfare of our employees, is second to none.
"To have been recognised so enthusiastically for our dedication to continuous improvement in this area is a phenomenal achievement, and is testament to those who have invested significant time and effort into not only ensuring we are meeting our targets for health and safety at the company, but surpassing them year on year."
